Stonewood Castle
A Private Historic Estate
Stonewood Castle, built in 1931, is a rare and romantic residence inspired by French château design and thoughtfully preserved and occasionally made available for curated private experiences and stays.
This storybook estate features hand-crafted curved stone walls, a drawbridge-style walkway, arched doorways, and French doors that open to Juliet balconies. Inside, guests will find a breathtaking spiral turret staircase, original hammered-iron railings, wide-plank hardwood floors, and a picturesque gazebo garden with a slate patio—perfect for lingering, celebrating, or capturing unforgettable moments.
Nestled on a quarter-acre in a serene, tree-lined neighborhood in Northeast Philadelphia, this exquisitely designed home is affectionately known by locals as “Rapunzel’s Castle.” The five-story residence offers 2,500 square feet of living space, including three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms.
Stonewood Castle is a privately owned historic home located outside Philadelphia, restored with care, artistry, and respect for its architectural character. From time to time, the estate is opened for approved private use, including intimate, microgatherings (less than 25 guests), creative projects, and select overnight accommodations. Access is by application only, and each request is individually reviewed to ensure alignment with the scale, spirit, and preservation of the residence.
Overnight accommodations may be made available as part of an approved private estate experience. Stays are offered on a limited, case-by-case basis and are not operated in the manner of a hotel, inn or traditional lodging facility. Availability, duration and use are reviewed individually to ensure alignment with the character and preservation of the residence. Contact us for more info.
